Q: What is your current position at Preferred Mutual?
A: Property Claims Manager
Q: How long have you been working at Preferred Mutual, and what was your position when you started?
A: I have been working at Preferred Mutual for 11 years. I originally started with the company as an Intern in the No-Fault Claims Department during college. I then returned as a No-Fault Claims Representative after college.
Q: What do you like about working in the Claims Department?
A: What I like most about working claims is the opportunity to help people. No one ever wants a claim to happen but this is why they buy insurance. It is great to be able to fulfill the promise that we sell.
Q: Why do you think Preferred Mutual is a great place to work?
A: Preferred offers a great deal of flexibility with the use of a flexible schedule when needed and also the ability to work from home.
Q: What is a hobby or activity that you enjoy outside of work?
A: I enjoy golf, hunting, fishing and making maple syrup.
Q: Do you volunteer at any organizations, and if so, what are they, and why did you choose to volunteer your time at that organization?
A: I recently volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in Syracuse with the Claims Team. The Ronald McDonald House has been a home away from home in Syracuse, NY and Columbus, OH for my family during my son’s medical appointments. Without the Ronald McDonald House we would not have been able to remain together during hospital stays. The charity is a great organization and it feels good to give back.
Q: Did you grow up in the area locally, and if not, where are you from originally?
A: I grew up in Brookfield, NY.
Q: What helps you keep your work/life balance?
A: I try to remain conscientious of the needs and responsibilities of both.
Q: Any additional interesting and fun facts about yourself that you would like to add?
A: I graduated with a degree in Marketing from Roberts Wesleyan College and hold the CPCU, AIC, AIS, ARM and SCLA professional designations.
