Q: Why do you think Preferred Mutual is a great place to work?

A: My experience is that all of the employees, regardless of what department you are in, work collaboratively together to tackles issues and problems with the goal of outcomes that move us forward as an organization. 

Q: What is your current position at Preferred Mutual?

A: Director of Commercial Lines Underwriting

Q: You recently joined Preferred Mutual, how many weeks has it been?

A: I recently just finished my 8th week here at Preferred Mutual.

Q: What do you like about working in Underwriting?

A: Working in underwriting allows me to build relationships with customers and flex my analytic muscle, making critical decision on business that directly impacts the growth and profitability of the enterprise.

Q: What is a hobby or activity that you enjoy outside of work?

A: Running

Q: Do you volunteer at any organizations, and if so, what are they, and why did you choose to volunteer your time at that organization?

A: Mainly with my church. I have been a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro, New York since I was a small boy.

Q: Did you grow up in the area locally, and if not, where are you from originally?

A: Yes. Outside of going away for college, I am born and raised just outside of the Utica area.

Q: What helps you keep your work/life balance?

A: Time with family. I am blessed to have a loving wife and two children (a boy and a girl).

Q: Do you currently or have you previously had a mentor or someone that has influenced you in your career?

A: Yes. I would say that Frank Zurschmidt and Ernie Weeks are two insurance professionals that have had a positive influence in my career.

Q: Any additional comments and/or fun facts that you would to add about yourself?

A: Big NY Yankees and NY Giants fan and proud graduate of Cornell University (Go Big Red!).
